SEO Tips - Make use of the Google Webmaster Tools

Make Googlebot crawling smoother by using Webmaster Tools:

Major search engines, including Google, provide free tools for webmasters. Google's Webmaster Tools help webmasters better control how Google interacts with their websites and get useful information from Google about their site. Using Webmaster Tools won't help your site get preferential treatment; however, it can help you identify issues that, if addressed, can help your site perform better in search results. With the service, webmasters can:

  • See which parts of a site Googlebot had problems crawling
  • Notify us of an XML Sitemap file
  • Analyze and generate robots.txt files
  • Remove URLs already crawled by Googlebot
  • Specify your preferred domain
  • Identify issues with title and description meta tags
  • Understand the top searches used to reach a site
  • Get a glimpse at how Googlebot sees pages
  • Remove unwanted sitelinks that Google may use in results
  • Receive notification of quality guideline violations and request site reconsideration
Yahoo! (Yahoo! Site Explorer) and Microsoft (Bing Webmaster Tools) also offer free tools for webmasters.

High-level analysis is possible via Google Analytics and Website Optimizer:
If you've improved the crawling and indexing of your site using Google Webmasters Tools or other services, you're probably curious about the traffic coming to your site. Web analytics programs like Google Analytic are a valuable source of insight for this. You can use these to:

  • Get insight into how users reach and behave on your site:
  • Discover the most popular content on your site
  • Measure the impact of optimizations you make to your site - e.g. did changing those title and description meta tags improve traffic from search engines?
For advanced users, the information an analytics package provides, combined with data from your server log files, can provide even more comprehensive information about how visitors are interacting with your documents (such as additional keywords that searchers might use to find your site).

Lastly, Google offers another tool called Google Website Optimizer that allows you to run experiments to find what on-page changes will produce the best conversion rates with visitors. This, in combination with Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools (see the video on using the "Google Trifecta"), is a powerful way to begin improving your site.

SEO Tips - Best Practices Part 5

Promotions and Analysis - Promote your Website in the right ways !

About increasing backlinks with an intention to increase the value of the site:
While most of the links to your site will be gained gradually, as people discover your content through search or other ways and link to it, Google understands that you'd like to let others know about the hard work you've put into your content. Effectively promoting your new content will lead to faster discovery by those who are interested in the same subject. As with most points covered in this document, taking these recommendations to an extreme could actually harm the reputation of your site.

Master making announcements via blogs and being recognized online:

  • A blog post on your own site letting your visitor base know that you added something new is a great way to get the word out about new content or services. Other webmasters who follow your site or RSS feed could pick the story up as well.
  • Putting effort into the offline promotion of your company or site can also be rewarding. For example, if you have a business site, make sure its URL is listed on your business cards, letterhead, posters, etc. You could also send out recurring newsletters to clients through the mail letting them know about new content on the company's website.
  • If you run a local business, adding its information to Google Places will help you reach customers on Google Maps and web search. The Webmaster Help Center has more tips on promoting your local business.

Best Practices: Know about social media sites

  • Sites built around user interaction and sharing have made it easier to match interested groups of people up with relevant content.
Try to Avoid:
  • Attempting to promote each new, small piece of content you create; go for big, interesting items
  • Involving your site in schemes where your content is artificially promoted to the top of these services

Reach out to those in your site's related community:

  • Chances are, there are a number of sites that cover topic areas similar to yours. Opening up communication with these sites is usually beneficial. Hot topics in your niche or community could spark additional ideas for content or building a good community resource.
Try to Avoid:
  • Spamming link requests out to all sites related to your topic area
  • Purchasing links from another site with the aim of getting PageRank instead of traffic

On-Page SEO or Search Engine Optimization

Hello Readers,
How are you?
In this post I am going to tell you a little about On-Page Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Search Engine Optimization is a huge and interesting subject. In the near future the internet world will need lots of SEO specialists. And the competition related to this field is getting harder day by day. Basically there are two kinds of search engine optimization method:

  • On-page SEO and
  • Off-page SEO
Since this post is about On-Page SE Optimization, you have to wait for my next post about Off-Page optimization. On-page optimization technique is a valuable tool / stuff to make a better rank for any website. Actually this is the basic method of search engine optimization. After successful application of on-page optimization in your pages you can take necessary steps for the Off-Page optimization for your website or blog. Off-page optimization means stuff that isn’t on the page that affects your ranking (namely, in-bound links). To get huge number of hit / traffic in any site, both type of optimization methods are important.

SEO specialists say that on-page optimization is more important in Search Engines like Yahoo and MSN, than it is for Google. Google relies more heavily on links than the other big two SE’s. Before applying that kind of SEO on any web pages, selection of Keyword is very important. I will post another article about Keyword selection.

Important things need to keep in mind for On-Page SEO:

  • Make sure that your domain name contains the main keywords.
  • Try to include maximum number of keywords in the title of your site or blog.
  • Make the very first text on the page the keywords in an H1 (header) tag.
  • Put an introductory paragraph that uses the keywords right after the H1 tag.
  • If you have a lot of text on the page, break it up with H2 tags that contain variations of my keywords.
  • For typical blog post try to keep one, two or more keywords in any post title.
  • There are other things that search engine marketer’s focuses on and spend a lot of time with (things like keyword density and image alt tag density, etc.),
Some more details about on-page and off-page optimization is going to be posted in this blog. Thanks a lot for reading this.

oDesk Tests - very Helpful for Contractors

Dear readers,
The topic of this post is about various oDesk Tests. oDesk.com provides more than 300 free skill tests for the contractor. These tests are really very helpful for the freelancers usually who are new. oDesk provides various tests from Adobe applications to English grammar to XML. oDesk is continually adding and revising their test selection, so it will be better if you check back regularly to their site for any new test. You can take these skills tests to highlight your newly acquired skills to your potential clients.

If you new to freelancing than there's nothing to worry! oDesk also offers the a Readiness Test to help acquaint the new contractors with their system. After getting registered, Contractor job application quotas are restricted until they pass this readiness test. Once they pass the Readiness Test, their job application quotes are increased or their bid limit exceeds. The duration for the oDesk Readiness Test is only 60 minutes. There are total 25 multiple choice questions, each question has between 1 and 8 options of which 1 or more may be correct.

You can take as many as tests as you want from more than 300 skill tests. So, oDesk always recommend contractors for check the list and take tests that correspond with skills they want to present to potential clients. Because these helps any client to find out his desired contractor. There is no penalty for failing in any test and it is FREE and anyone can retake the test after 30 days. You can also hide any tests scores if you do not like.

Here are some helpful suggestions / tips based on web portal of oDesk.com:

  • If you see a job post that you are interested in, take any skills tests listed in the requested qualifications. The Client probably will not consider your application otherwise. Be sure your passing test score is public, so clients will recognize you as a qualified candidate.
  • Take tests featured on the profiles of contractors in your specific field. You can click on other candidates with public profiles on job posts, or do a search for contractors to see what tests your competitors has taken.
  • Look for unique tests, the ones not many other contractors have taken. You can sort by Tests Taken to find these hidden gems. They may be new tests or unique skills; either way you will really stand out to any client looking for that specific skill.
  • You may take as many tests to highlight as many skills as you want. However, it may not be wise to leave them all visible on your profile. Generally, we advise you make only the better than average test scores public.
  • After taking any test, a test score listed as "above average" means it was in the 50% percentile - you scored better than half of all other test takers. But, if it shows as "below average", that means the other half scored better than you. Your profile is all about showing the client you're the best person for the job. Any test where you didn't score better than most people (a percentile of 50% or lower) will hurt your profile more than it helps. So hide it, work on your skills (oDesk suggests creating things you can add to your portfolio), and retake the test after 30 days.
Readers,
The Readiness Test is not a hard test. Its an easy test, actually it helps any contractor to increase his / her daily bid limit. Making money online is getting popularity day by day through world. Freelancing / Outsourcing is one of the competitive money making strategy on the net. Lots of competitors are already trying hard. So, if you really want to make real cash from this kind jod than lots of work you have to do. Don't be late, start today.

Things to Consider before publish a Blog

Blogging is interesting !
Blogging is so hard !
Blogging is Easy !
Blogging is tough !

..... From the aspects of different bloggers. These are the most common thinking of all bloggers (successful blogger or failed blogger / new blogger / professional blogger / whatever..). Blogs can be easy or hard but all we know that Blogging is very very powerful on the internet. At the starting blogging were treated as Journalism. Anyone can publish a blog from any corner of the world with free of cost. That's why its blogging profession is getting popularity day by day around the world. It does not need any kind of special computer skills to publish a blog.

Full time blogger are making a fine and standard living from their blogs, part time bloggers are also making lots of money from blogs too. Blogging has been so much popular that corporate national and international and all kind of companies publishes their own blog regularly inside their websites. Its the most easiest, cheapest way to express something to the whole world, to make some real money from online, to sell own or others products etc.

As Blogging is going to be more popular day by day, so the competition is getting harder and all the competitors / bloggers are getting smarter too. So if you want to do something better in the blogging industry, prepare yourself before publish your first post. Ask yourself some questions and write down the answers on the paper:

  • Why do you want to start a blog ? What are the main purposes, Business or Personal or others ? It does not matter what you want to do with your blog in the future, it will come later. The important thing is that you have a valid reason that you understand well. There are lots of valid purpose people start blog, like someone publishes business blog, someone blogging about personal interests, fun, education, help blah blah blah . . Take time, do some paper work. Blogging is very easy to publish now, Wordpress, Blogger and lots of other blogging platforms are really cool ! Keep yourself busy, and do some research work, later it will help you a lots.

  • Get ready to take some positive actions, you need to be Pro-Active, be Positive, think positive, keep focus on your attitude. Ignore the negative thoughts. Don't even think that you can't do that or its hard, don't use "may be or could be" type words cause it doesn't mean anything. Your belief must be 100% for all the time (99.9% even not accepted). If you have any doubts about your attitude, about your positivity than I won't recommend you to start blog, blogging is not for you. It will be better to spend your time with your other interested works.

  • Find your own interests about one or two or more particular topics. Its different for some business or corporate blog, cause they select topic from their businesses. Than discover the niche from your topic and its related keywords. Keyword research is the better way to find out your targeted keywords. Its really important if you want huge traffic for your blog. Find the target audience/readers of your blog, you need some loyal readers. Prepare yourself ready to serve the humanity, try to give some thing unique and special to your readers that will really help them.

Why most Blogger Produce a Failed Blog ?

I was reading an article yesterday about some valuable money making tips on the internet, published by a famous blogger. Its awesome ! The writer tried to keep his main focus to the Personal Development of a blogger or webmaster. In the comments section of the article I found an interesting and very hard true comment.

The commenter must be a famous blogger or an internet geek, its an anonymous reply, its almost same big as the main article. In his comments he tried to highlighted the the main Causees of Failure in Blogging, Why most of new blogger still producing Failed Blog. Later I thought about it and tried to go to the deeper of the problem, and still going. In this post I tried to figure out the main cause of failure. Its only my personal opinion, you can make your opinion in the comment section.

In my high school life I learned an essay about "Science - The blessings for life". One sentence on the essay was like.. "The world is going to be Smaller day by day by some advanced inventions of Science". That time I was a little bit confused ! How it could be ? How the world can be Smaller day by day ?! (stupid thinking ! isn't it ?)

But now a days all we know how the world is really getting smaller day by day. Its happening due to the inventions of some Technologies. From my point of view, among all of these inventions INTERNET is the most powerful technology that helps us getting closer to each other (small world !).

How people used to communicate with each other, their friends and family before 15 + years from one country to another country ? They usually wrote a letter, go to the post office, post it, wait for the reply. . . ! One question from the sender > "How Are You ?" Reply from the other side > "I am Fine !", Sometime it took 10 days, 15 day, 20 day . . and so on !

But now a days, anyone can get connected to anybody around the world through the Internet using Chatt, E-mail, Social sites. . .etc. All of these became possible due to the Internet ans other Telecommunication Technology ! And that's the way that the World has become so small and getting smaller day by day, its almost in our hand now.

Now come to my Post Title: Almost every famous blogger writes the same thing when they talks about something like Money Making, blogging, etc,
"about 99% of bloggers quit blogging within the first 6 months of the starting and 1% become successful" !

100 people started blogging at the same time, at the starting all of them has almost same spirit, same desire, same attitude..... But after a while 99 people quit or produce a fail blog and earns the credit as a failed blogger. Only 1 person keep blogging and success starts to follow him ! Why ?

Whats are the main reasons of failure in blogging, internet marketing, freelancing or other related services ? I figured out these three main cause, Please take a look.
  • We start blogging only to Make Money: We think we can make a lot of money from the Internet. We want to become a millionaire within a short period time (1 month, 2 month or . . . 6months). But we didn't get the Money! so FAIL and QUIT. . . !
  • Leak of Self Confidence: When we plan to do something at the starting our Confidence reaches at the highest level. But after a short while it becomes . . . 0 ! Interests about blogging, money making are gone. so FAIL and QUIT. . . !
  • Technical Disability: People came from other study background came here and start blogging to make money. They starts blogging, make some posts in a typical way, cant apply anything special to their sites or blogs (Design, SEO and other). A single cent did not come. . ! so FAIL and QUIT.

Lots of point can be made regarding the cause of failed blogging. But which one is the main cause ? I am going to write some posts about How to become a failed blogger ? How to produce a fail blog ? !

Dear readers, what do you think ? which one is the main cause of so many people start and quit in a short period of time ?

Is it the leakage of Self Confidence ?
Or the leak of Patience ?
Or Technical Disability ?
Or . . . . ?

Basic Tips to write a Better Article for your Blog

People write articles for various reasons on the internet. Somebody writes to express his thoughts and feelings to others, somebody writes for their own offline or online businesses, somebody writes to make money using blogs etc. Whatever the reason for writing is, the main target is to get traffic (share with friends and family, reach to the audience, finding readers or viewers) to their website or blog. Without traffic any site or blog is worthless cause its very to publish an article through blog.

So, when you write an article include something valuable, interesting in your writing that attracts some readers. My suggestion is, don’t look for traffic, try to write something new and exceptional that your readers get impressed, your readers will find your article and share with their near one's. Traffic will come automatically come to your site this way.

I have write in some of my previous posts about how to write an Article that attract readers. In this post I am going to give some basic tips that could help you more.

Tips-1: Choose a better topic of your Article:
This is the main basic need to produce a better article. Always choose a topic that you know details about. You cant go for a long ride without this if you don't have sufficient knowledge about the topic. You can't write well or can't describe well about any topic that you don't know. Ultimately the main reason is to get traffic to your site. How will you get traffic?
People who reads your article will give you traffic and people who read article regularly on the web, can easily find out an Article written by an expert or inexpert. So, before selecting an article topic think well and then start writing.

Tips-2: Do a research on the current Marketplace:
Find out whats going on, in the current marketplace, what are the hot topics, what are people talking and thinking about. Do a keyword research, browse Google news, Yahoo Buzz, Youtube video, BBC, CNN, Technorati and other famous websites to find out the hot topic.
If you find any niche that are more attractable, it will attract more readers to your site. Don't stop your research, search continuously for new ideas.

Tips-3: Always use easy words:
Try to avoid including complex words in your article, it may cause decrease your traffic. Use the words that are easy to understand. When you write something just think that you are talking to others and your readers are sitting in front of your computer, it will be helpful. Your writing will be more easier to understand by your audience. Target the Whole World to find your readers.

Tips-4: Try to spend more time:
Try to spend an adequate amount of time before you write an article. If your article provide useful information's, your readers will get interests to read. Give example or proof of your research, include some images. It will helps to impress your readers.

Tips-5: Numbered your topic:
Write an article that number listed, it will help your readers to easily scan them. Highlight your keyword on the article. Most people does not read article word by word. Keeping an eye on the highlighted words or sentences they try to understand the whole thing. Number listed article can make your readers more interested about your writing. So, always try to keep numbering your article.

Readers,
The above 5 tips could be helpful, it will be tough to make an improvement of your site traffic without following these.

Thanks.
