Hello Readers,
If you are getting ready to read this post right now, probably you have interests in the field of various online money making strategies. And if you are from my country Bangladesh, I think you are very interested to make money through the internet. And to do so, you need to send or withdraw money to the rest of the World.
YES! I am from Bangladesh too and right now I am writing in this blog about the latest news of PayPal online transaction in Bangladesh. The NEWS is old that the PayPal is going to start their service in Bangladesh. The IT Professionals from here who are working hard in the virtual world of Online Money (Internet Marketing, Blogging, Freelancing etc.), are always searching for NEWS related to these two words “PayPal” and “Bangladesh”.
Personally, I always keep looking for that kind of NEWS, whether in online or offline! Cause, before 2009, I have earned some revenue (US$ - a very little though!) from the internet and was unable to bring it in my own pocket, I wanted to buy a Hosting package from one of the best hosting platform in the world Hostgator, for my own sites and blogs but was unable to do that. Lots of Freelancers, Bloggers, Internet Marketers and peoples related to these kinds of professions has their own experiences of “didn’t get the earned money” or "unable to send money" like.
Bangladesh is one of the best Freelance Service Provider lists of the online freelancing giant ODESK, this is an old NEWS too!
Can you imagine! Bangladesh does not support any easy online money transaction method like PayPal, in this situation the Freelance Workers in this country made their own place in the top list of the best freelancers countries in the Whole World! So, after starting the operations of PayPal in Bangladesh.... what you think? This sector of IT will be one of the best earned sector of the country.
Anyway, maybe I am getting out of my track of this topic a little! I read an article on the internet today that the PayPal Transactions will starts in Bangladesh within May, 2013. Recently (on 5th April 2013) the Finance Minister of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh Abul Mal Abdul Muhit said that PayPal is going to start their operation in Bangladesh within the next one and half month. He told it in the inaugurating ceremony of Sylhet Trade Fair. This is the latest update, so we have to wait.
The son of the current Prime Minister of Bangladesh who is an ITC specialist Sajeeb Wazed Joy early said that PayPal is coming real soon in Bangladesh. To solve the problem of money transferring system for the Freelancers in Bangladesh, PayPal is going to start within a very short time in Bangladesh. In a conference organized “Digital World 2012” about the Freelancers, Sajeeb Wazed Joy told this about the PayPal transaction in Bangladesh.
Sajeeb Wazed Joy also told that the previous banking network of Bangladesh was running on analog system. Now the central Bank of the country, Bangladesh Bank has already been digitized and the E-Money transfer is possible in Bangladesh. The vice-president of Odesk, Mat Kooper, Freelancer vice president David Harrison was also present in the conference “Digital World 2012”.
Readers,
The safer, easier and extensive internet cash sending and withdrawing method in the world PayPal will operate in Bangladesh within May, 2013. This is the latest NEWS update, I got until today! Hope paypal starts their operations soon in this country, this will be a great news for the freelancers, internet marketers, bloggers in Bangladesh.
Thanks for reading this post. Your valuavle comments, suggestions, thoughts, experiences etc. to the related topic are always welcome.

Make Payment usng ShurjoMukhi PayPoint
This post is to tell you a little about how to use your Credit / Debit card to avail services from PayPoint BD. The services has launched recently in Bangladesh, it is getting popularity day by day and since the number of internet users in Bangladesh will cross over 20 million within the year 2020.
Buy through Credit / Debit cards:
If your card is not enabled than you need to contact your bank to enable your card to use for online transaction. Ask your bank if you need any additional PIN number apart from the numbers provided on either side of your card. PayPoint strongly suggests you to request your bank to enable "3ds security" or similar feature for your card to avoid fraud. This method requires you to input a secret PIN number during transaction which is not printed on your card. When you have all these information in hand ensure you have enough balance in your account and then head over to buy your desired service. The site will ask you the above information in time. After successfully providing that information your purchase will be completed.
Buy through Mobile Wallet / bKash:
If you have a bKash account you can pay using that. At first find out the price of the service / product you want to have. When you proceed to pay through bKash you will get the bKash mobile account number of PayPoint BD. Transfer that amount of money to the provided bKash account. After successful transaction you will get a transaction ID. Enter the transaction ID and your bKash mobile number in the web portal and wait for the transaction to complete. If it’s not successful at the first time wait for 5 minutes and try again with the same unique ID provided by bKash.
If face any problem during transaction:
It may happen sometimes due to inconsistent internet connection during transaction. Also the process remains valid for a certain period of time. If the process takes place longer than that the transaction will fail without showing any reason on the screen. However first ensure your money has not been deducted. Most banks will send you an SMS whenever there is a transaction through your card. If you don't have that service go to a nearby ATM booth and get a transaction history or call your bank customer support and ask if the transaction has been made. If the result is negative try again to complete the transaction.
However if you find your account has been debited than please inform PayPoint immediately through the mail: support@paypoint.com.bd.
You should send the following information’s:
- Name of the service / product you tried to buy.
- Approximate time and date
- Transaction amount
- The exact email address you provided during transaction
- The exact mobile number you provided during transaction
- If possible the unique transaction ID displayed on your screen when you were asked to provide your card details
If something likes this happen:
“I have not done transaction from your site but my bank statement is showing debit entry from your site”In such cases PayPoint strongly recommends you immediately notify your bank to investigate the transaction. Since you have not done the transaction it will not be possible for you to send us the service detail. On the other hand since we do not keep any card information it will not be possible for us to trace the transaction. However bank will have unique transaction ID of the purchase through that we can trace the service / product transaction details. We will always try to help you but you have to provide us the required and correct information.
Make your online payment more secure:
- Do not share your card details (ID, Password, Name etc) with any one unless absolutely necessary. There is no reason for anyone to ask for your PIN number or secret number.
- Enable 3ds security or similar feature which requires you to provide an extra PIN number not printed on your card during each transaction.
- Ask your bank for notification service for each transaction through your card.
- Periodically check your transaction history and investigate seriously if there is any unfamiliar transaction.
Thanks

E-Commerce Gateway opened by Bangladesh Bank
Another NEWS Review about the Launching of the National Payment Switch (NPS) in Bangladesh to facilitate online transactions in the country is the topic of this post. The Bangladesh Bank opened this gateway which will facilitate the e-commerce industry in country. This system will help to bring credit / debit cards of all the banks under a single network. The central bank (Bangladesh Bank) launched the National Payment Switch in December, 2012 which is going to revolutionize the e-commerce sector in Bangladesh in the upcoming future.
The Governor of the Bangladesh Bank, Atiur Rahman said, “The advantages of this new payment platform are enormous. E-commerce will spread across the whole country,” A customer using a credit or debit card of any bank will be able to draw cash from any ATM booth and POS (point of sales) in the country. The transaction costs will significantly go down as the transactions will be routed through the NPS instead of Visa, Master or Amex card networks abroad. Purchases and Sales can be done with these cards through the internet and web portals within the whole country.
As on December, 2012 only three banks, Dutch-Bangla, Pubali and Southeast Bank has joined the NPS so far. The rest will definitely join the platform soon. Since the system has started once, it will roll on automatically.
In the launching ceremony of the NPS, the deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank Naznin Sultana said that all the banks will join the National Payment Switch. The BB governor said the NPS will facilitate easy access to funds, an increase in tax revenue, more flow of money in the economy, and financial inclusion. BB executive director Ahsan Ullah said, “Banks will not need to pay network fees to the Visa or Master Card; they can ultimately reduce fees paid by customers,”
A little about the NPS:
- The central bank has set up the National Payment Switch (NPS) at a cost of $5 million (40 crore TK around) funded by the World Bank. It took more than three years to install it.
- Individual payment platforms introduced by different banks will be abolished once all the banks join in the common platform.

- L/C Monitoring System has been introduced for preservation and using the all necessary information regarding L/C by the banks through BB website. This system allows the authorized users of banks to upload and download their L/C information.
- In terms of article 36(3) of Bangladesh Bank Order, 1972, all scheduled banks are subject to submit Weekly Statement of Position as at the close of business on every Thursday to the Department of Off-site Supervision. This statement now is submitted through on-line using the web upload service of BB website within o3 (three) working days after the reporting date which is much more time and labor efficient that the earlier manual system.
